Compliance to ASTM F1292-04

When installed according to the manufacturer's specifications, PIP can be expected to provide long term continual compliance to ASTM F1292-04, however the following considerations should be taken into account:

• PIP is now being installed by many inexperienced installers
• In the absence of field testing, the customer currently has no way of guaranteeing that the product has been consistently installed to the required thickness and formulation throughout the entire site
• Since the material is manufactured on site, process control can be very difficult
• Undulating surfaces can cause the rubber to be poured inconsistently
• Few if any PIP manufacturers are offering a full replacement warranty on surfacing that does not meet the ASTM F1292-04 standard when field tested after five years of use in any weather condition
